In line with Vice-president for student and external affairs Jesus Hernandez’ birthday, the UNC community celebrated the VPSEA Day last Dec. 14 at the University campus.
In the morning, a thanksgiving Mass was held at the UNC Chapel. Afterwards, the “Pamaskong handog sa kaarawan ni Lolo Year 5” followed wherein VPSEA had given some gifts to less fortunate people from UNC’S adopted community, such as follows: Sta. Cruz Elementary; Sua, Camaligan Elementary School; Loob, Ginza Elementary School; Project feed one, In Gainza; And Gawad Kalinga, Brgy. Triangulo. The said program was sponsored by the Social Arts (SA) Department and Institutionalized Community Extension Services (ICES).
“He loves kids. It’s just proper to let him (Boss Susing) have his opportunity to give something to the school’s adopted kids during his 84th birthday,” Marissa Trinidad, ICES director, said.
Parallel to the “Pamaskong Handog sa Kaarawan ni Lolo Year 5” was the ‘Amazing Race: VPSEA Edition’ which was steered by the University Student Government (USG). It was held in the university campus.
In the afternoon, a parade was held which participated in by the different departments and all National Service Teaching Staff.
The participants in said event showcased different intermission numbers.
