Dr. Eduardo H. Sison, Vice President for Administration of the University of Nueva Caceres recently approved, in behalf of the university, the service offer of Bayan Telecommunications Inc. represented by Joseph Pinero, Bayan Business Sales Head for Luzon, last June 27, 2013.
Innovation for Global Education is the buzzword in campus, and this recent development is designed to make the students, better able to access information on the worldwide web, with a truly class leading bandwidth speed exclusive to the University of Nueva Caceres.
Bayantel Communications, as one of the pioneers in the Telecommunication industry, took the initiative of offering to the school the biggest individual bandwidth of any educational institution in the region. With a bandwidth rate of 20 Mbps using fiber optic technology, UNC can rightfully claim to have this singular honor.
With the growing demand for high bandwidth multimedia applications such as videoconferencing and distance learning, it is inevitable that the university will be faced with the decision to make the choice to switch from older systems, to the latest innovations using digital technology.
The use of fiber optic- based Internet access would guarantee the best possible information delivery. Fiber optic cables are thin strand of glass that transmits digital signals as pulses of light. At speeds of 10 Gigabits for second, fiber optics allow more data to be transmitted than conventional copper cable. It offers more security and cleaner signal when compared to other media. For these reasons, fiber is steadily replacing copper for most communication services, including telephone and computer networks.
School year 2013-2014 promises to be a windfall of new changes and more aggressive innovations at the University of Nueva Caceres, as it reasserts forcefully, its status, as the leading Higher Education institution in the Bicol Region.
