Honorable Maria Leonora Gerona Robredo, Camarines sur-third district representative, challenge the UNC graduates as their Commencement Speaker to prepare for the lives they did not plan in the 66th Commencement Exercises held last March 16, 2014.
Atty. Leni Robredo reiterated in her speech that life is all about facing the unexpected, thus, one must prepare for the life he/she is didn’t choose, the life never imagined and never dreamed of. The death of her husband, Secretary Jesse Robredo, pushed her to learn the life she didn’t choose (being in politics). She wants to continue what her husband left, to inspire, to influence and make things happen. She encouraged the graduates after graduation not only to find for high salaried job but they must look for a job which has higher cause.
She finished her bachelor’s degree at the University of the Philippines. She’s a graduate of UNC College of Law. She is a multi-awarded lawyer, parent of social change, proactive public servant and a hands-on mother to her children as introduced by UNC Board of Trustees Chairman, Felicito Payumo.
The University produced 658 graduates as conferred by the Executive Vice-President Lourdes S. Anonas
