Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Level 1 PACUCOA)

Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a four-year program that equips students with the necessary knowledge and skills to care for the sick and injured. The program centers on four main areas of study: (1) health promotion, (2) disease prevention, (3) risk reduction, and (4) health restoration.

Students receive a series of training on the five nursing processes: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. They have to render over 2,000 hours of Related Learning Experience (RLE), also known as a clinical duty.

During RLEs, student nurses will be placed in different hospital settings under the supervision of experienced clinical instructors. Student nurses must conduct health assessments, assist in patient diagnosis, develop nursing care plans, perform nursing interventions, and evaluate and advise patients on health maintenance.

BS Nursing graduates need to take the Nurses Licensure Examination (NLE) before they can practice the profession. Our college has produced BS Nursing graduates who demonstrated excellence in the licensure exams. In 2017 alone, all our first-takers passed the exam, and we had an overall university passing rate of 83.33%, which was far above the national passing rate of that year (45.65%).

Caregiving NC II

Caregiving NC II is a seven-month technical-vocational course that trains students to provide care and support to the elderly, infants and toddlers, patients with disability and special needs, as well as those who require end-of-life care. This program is ideal for those who want to work as a nursing aide or a caregiver in nursing homes, hospitals, or private residences.

Students under this program receive intensive, practical training on different methods of fostering a healthy and safe environment for the patients. These methods include meal preparation, bed-making, patient grooming, medication supervision, and more. Students also undergo training on how to respond to patient emergency situations.

Accredited by TESDA, the Caregiving NC II program requires students to go through on-the-job training. We place our students in hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes to experience the actual work they need to do before they graduate.

Students who completed the program are advised to take the Assessment and Certification Exam, National Certificate – Level II (NCII). While assessment and certification are not a requirement for graduates of vocational courses, those who have a TESDA certificate have the edge over those who don’t, as many local and foreign employers require the credential.

At the University of Nueva Caceres, we mold young Bicolanos who care for the country and the world. If you wish to pursue a career in nursing or caregiving, register now and get the quality education and training you deserve.

College was a great experience. It’s been 15 years but the learning and wisdom remain the same. What an exciting time these last four years have been.
UNC played an important role in where I am and who I am today. The motto itself Non-Scholæ Sed Vitæ says it all. It prepared me to face the real challenge outside the four corners of the room. It encouraged me to explore. It taught me that life is not just a piece of cake. It created favorable conditions for my personal growth. It honed me to be ready on a global scale.
On a lighter side, the university became my second home, my sanctuary. I got a family, friends, and critics. Thanks to the professors specifically from the Computer Science Department. They were the ones who trusted my insights, brought confidence and became my inspiration.
University of Nueva Caceres, my alma mater, thank you for the quality education.

As a former working student at the University of Nueva Caceres, which helped me build my leadership qualities, value the importance of education and give premium to the management of time.
A degree of Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (1996) offered me the opportunity to be an Information Technology Officer of Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Legazpi Branch. Now, as a Team Leader of INRU-BCRD, public service is about serving the people honestly and doing a job efficiently, dedication to the people and to the nation.
To borrow GSIS slogan, UNC is Maasahan ng Lingkod-Bayan.

It was my first year at UNC back in 2007, when my life totally changed. I took AB Psychology since I’ve been amazed by how I could study the human mind and different approaches to behaviors in the different settings of our society. UNC prepared me for the reality of life and how to persevere in spite of the difficulties. I was also encouraged by my professors by pushing me through my limitations since they have seen my potentials. I finished the course in 2009 and took a Masters in Guidance and Counseling. Graduate School is another challenge and UNC helped me to grow on my chosen field of interest and equipped me to be more competitive internationally.
UNC made me realize that education is the primary way for me to achieve my goals. I was inspired every step of the way to keep going, keep trying, even in the midst of challenges. Fast forward, now my dreams became reality. I have been involved in different international fora & trainings, finished counseling course at Canadian University Dubai given by the Philippine Consulate Dubai, a Certified Applied Behavioral Therapist, Served as Head, Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Department & School Psychologist at United International Private School, Dubai United Arab Emirates, Editorial Board at Asian Psychological Services and Assessment Inc., Philippines, Currently Board of Directors in Psychological Society of the Philippines UAE Dubai Chapter, have been conducting trainings and workshops at Philippine Consulate General and Northern Emirates, various organizations in the Philippines, and across United Arab Emirates. I was awarded as Outstanding & Meritorious Employee for two consecutive years at United International Private School, Dubai, UAE, and Outstanding UNESCO Club Educator of the Philippines 2018. Currently, I serve as the Head of Inclusion Support Centre at St. Mary’s Catholic High School Muhaisnah, Dubai United Arab Emirates, a Mental Health Advocate and beliefs in the capacity of the youth to change the world.
I give all the honor and appreciation to GOD and to UNC, my Alma Mater!
