Junior High School

“Molding young minds for the service of GOD, COUNTRY and HUMANITY”

The University of Nueva Caceres High School Department maintains the university’s reputation of offering the most balanced education in the Bicol region. For one, we provide our students with quality education through an excellent curriculum and a highly competent faculty. We also enable students to experience holistic development through sports, arts, and other extra-curricular activities. With this holistic approach to learning, we have produced graduates who are more than college-ready.

Excellence in Academics and Life

UNC High School is home to the most outstanding students in the region: recognized young leaders and achievers in various disciplines. Our alumni have created big names in many industries today — be it in the local, national, or international scene.

One thing that makes our high school students excel in both academics and life is the support they get from our educators. Our teachers utilize modern, innovative strategies in instruction. Classes are mostly heterogeneous, facilitating balanced and exciting interaction during lectures and discussions.

On top of that, since we are majority-owned by AC Education, UNC provides the Learning with Industry Collaboration (LINC) program for senior high school students. Whether the students prefer to pursue and succeed in college or enter the workforce directly, this program arms them with the appropriate capabilities. It also complements the academic strands that senior high school students choose under the K-12 program.

How LINC Works

How LINC Works?

After completing Grade 10, students who enter Senior High School may choose among Sports and Art, Technical-Vocational-Livelihood, and Academic tracks. The Academic track includes these strands:

  • Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM)
  • Humanities, Education, Social Sciences (HESS)
  • Accountancy, Business, Management (ABM)

The choice of track and strand will define the content of the subjects students will take in Grades 11 and 12. During these two years of specialized secondary education, students gain knowledge and experience relevant to their chosen track. UNC improves this specialized education further through LINC.

With the LINC program, we implement innovative learning methods that help our students gain skills needed to survive and thrive in the 21st-century workplace. The program, for instance, includes an English Proficiency course that makes students’ adept at communicating and collaborating with industry professionals.

We expose our students to workplace situations, training them to be more responsive to the changing needs of various industries today. Our facilitators don’t assess our students through quizzes and exams; instead, we grade our student outputs against today’s employment skills standards. As such, many of our graduates obtained rewarding entry-level jobs even without a college degree, while others continued their education in college seamlessly.

With LINC, we don’t just teach students; we link them to their future careers, too.

  • To utilize education as an instrument in producing graduates who are committed to be of service to God, Country and Humanity.
  • To adopt a well-integrated program that is responsive to the needs of the learners and their community.
  • To serve as a “Laboratory of life” by exposing learners to programs and instructions that will adequately prepare them to face the challenges in the tertiary level or life outside the academe.

College was a great experience. It’s been 15 years but the learning and wisdom remain the same. What an exciting time these last four years have been.
UNC played an important role in where I am and who I am today. The motto itself Non-Scholæ Sed Vitæ says it all. It prepared me to face the real challenge outside the four corners of the room. It encouraged me to explore. It taught me that life is not just a piece of cake. It created favorable conditions for my personal growth. It honed me to be ready on a global scale.
On a lighter side, the university became my second home, my sanctuary. I got a family, friends, and critics. Thanks to the professors specifically from the Computer Science Department. They were the ones who trusted my insights, brought confidence and became my inspiration.
University of Nueva Caceres, my alma mater, thank you for the quality education.

As a former working student at the University of Nueva Caceres, which helped me build my leadership qualities, value the importance of education and give premium to the management of time.
A degree of Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (1996) offered me the opportunity to be an Information Technology Officer of Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Legazpi Branch. Now, as a Team Leader of INRU-BCRD, public service is about serving the people honestly and doing a job efficiently, dedication to the people and to the nation.
To borrow GSIS slogan, UNC is Maasahan ng Lingkod-Bayan.

It was my first year at UNC back in 2007, when my life totally changed. I took AB Psychology since I’ve been amazed by how I could study the human mind and different approaches to behaviors in the different settings of our society. UNC prepared me for the reality of life and how to persevere in spite of the difficulties. I was also encouraged by my professors by pushing me through my limitations since they have seen my potentials. I finished the course in 2009 and took a Masters in Guidance and Counseling. Graduate School is another challenge and UNC helped me to grow on my chosen field of interest and equipped me to be more competitive internationally.
UNC made me realize that education is the primary way for me to achieve my goals. I was inspired every step of the way to keep going, keep trying, even in the midst of challenges. Fast forward, now my dreams became reality. I have been involved in different international fora & trainings, finished counseling course at Canadian University Dubai given by the Philippine Consulate Dubai, a Certified Applied Behavioral Therapist, Served as Head, Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Department & School Psychologist at United International Private School, Dubai United Arab Emirates, Editorial Board at Asian Psychological Services and Assessment Inc., Philippines, Currently Board of Directors in Psychological Society of the Philippines UAE Dubai Chapter, have been conducting trainings and workshops at Philippine Consulate General and Northern Emirates, various organizations in the Philippines, and across United Arab Emirates. I was awarded as Outstanding & Meritorious Employee for two consecutive years at United International Private School, Dubai, UAE, and Outstanding UNESCO Club Educator of the Philippines 2018. Currently, I serve as the Head of Inclusion Support Centre at St. Mary’s Catholic High School Muhaisnah, Dubai United Arab Emirates, a Mental Health Advocate and beliefs in the capacity of the youth to change the world.
I give all the honor and appreciation to GOD and to UNC, my Alma Mater!
