My dearest UNCeans, my beloved students, members of the Faculty, non-teaching personnel, my colleagues in Administration, above all other considerations, rest assured that you are in my thoughts and my prayers accompany you and your families.
We are all facing an extraordinary situation that affects everyone and, therefore, needs our full preparedness and utmost cooperation.
Yesterday, we had issued Guidelines on how we can continue to serve our students and personnel.
Our future-ready initiatives must now be fully tested. However, future-readiness might not necessarily be on line supported. I encourage our faculty to help students discover new learnings under varied circumstances. Beyond these Guidelines, let us BE UNITED as we continue to find ways to accomplish and fulfill our core purpose of ensuring that everyone makes it.
Therefore, I enjoin everyone, unless extreme needs demand otherwise, TO PLEASE STAY HOME!
Personnel who must report to work will be kept "at the barest minimum."
Exemptions will be secured from the proper authorities for this purpose.
UNC vehicles will be deployed to provide critical transport.
UNC shall make provisions for all employees so that they receive their salaries and wages in advance.
We are exploring other ways and support the best we can to ensure everyone's welfare.
"Non scholae sed vitae." Not for school, but for life. Let us remember the motto of the University of Nueva Caceres to remind us that our education's purpose is to use it to live our lives the best we can, under whatever circumstance we find ourselves in.
Let the UNCean spirit of a purposeful life unite us all.
With God's graceful assistance, we shall overcome!
With our unified strength and with the maternal protection of Our Lady of Peñafrancia and the Mother of Perpetual Help Patroness of UNC, we shall prevail!
- Madam Fay
