UNCean SHINES in INTERNATIONAL CONFAB

UNCean student Marie Angella Averilla, President of the University Student Government and 3 rd year AB Political student, made it to the cut as one of the international delegates to the Africa Asia International Youth Model United Nations (AAIMUN) virtual conference held last January 15-18, 2021. In the conference, Ms. Averilla was allocated to represent Congo Republic in the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Council. During the two-day committee sessions, she rendered open speeches on the topic, “Equality in the Development of World Information Technology.” As a representative of the Congo Republic, Ms. Averilla took part in drafting the resolution of the UNDP Council where her country allocation was one of the signatories of the resolution that was successfully passed.

The AAIMUN is a platform where youth mentality in leadership, negotiation and diplomacy are developed in a model United Nations. It aims to engage youth leaders all over the world and to provide a platform to share perspectives and opinions in solving world issues. By joining the international conference, the youth delegates can enhance their capabilities, develop their networks and improve their communication and diplomatic skills. (AAFullante)
